West Ham and Manchester United will be seeking for their placement into FA Cup semi finals tonight in London, since first leg in Manchester was ended by draw.
West Ham occupies great 6th position at the table in Premier league, they are in pretty good shape in this season but in last four rounds had harder schedule and got four draws, most recently earned one point in previous round of the league against Arsenal at home in one of the most exciting games in this season in Premier league, hosts were two goals behind until 44th minute but with two two goals of Carroll they managed to equalize and teams went on the brake with result 2:2, in second half they even took a lead but failed to save their net and final score was 3:3, the Hammers are for sure satisfied with that one point but they showed really good performances there and could earn all three points. They have a great chance to reach Europa league qualifications for the next season and must continue with good results until the end of the season, now I believe that will manage to overcome not so confident Manchester United and reach semi finals of FA Cup. Great season for hosts, they scored 52 goals in 32 rounds, while defense wasn't that good and conceded 40, so far they suffered only seven defeats in this campaign and most of them were in matches away from home, only two times were defeated at home in second and third round of league against Leicester and newly promoted Bournemouth, since August they are without defeat at Upton Park and for sure are capable to continue in the same manner. Last three duels of these two teams were ended by draw and here I would give advantage to the hosts, they seems better and I believe that will manage to win their progress into next round. Defender Carl Jenkinson (20/2) and Diafra Sakho (16/4) are injured and won't be available for this game while defender James Collins (18/0) is in doubt due to a minor injury.
Manchester United on the other side showed pretty poor performances in previous round of Premier league and suffered convincing defeat against Tottenham on the road 3:0, guests were outplayed and with such a bad performances they can't earn points against even weaker teams, before that achieved two narrow victories over Everton and Machester City. Red Devils are at 5th position at the table which leads them directly into Europa league group stage, they must get back on the track and consolidate their squad to achieve positive outcome here. From Europa league were eliminated by Liverpool and only in FA Cup have a chance to win a trophy but to achieve that must show much better performances than in previous round. Guests have only one point more than 6th placed West Ham, they didn't impressed with attacking skills and so far scored only 39 goals in 32 rounds. Visitors have positive record in duels against West Ham, in last eleven duels celebrated six times and got five draws, in six seasons are without defeat against them and now seems very hard to achieve positive result in this game and reach semi finals. Guests are struggling to find their form since this campaign started, they have failed to win their placement into Champions league knockout stage, in Premier league have no chance for success while from Capital One Cup were eliminated by Middlesbrough, all in all pretty bad season for them and victory here is a must but it will be very hard at this moment against decent opponents. Defender Luke Shaw (5/0), midfielders Adnan Januzaj (2/0), Bastian Schweinsteiger (18/1) and forward Will Keane (1/0) will all miss this match due to injuries while appearances of defender Phil Jones (10/0), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (6/0) and forward Wayne Rooney (22/7) are in doubt due to injury issues.
I expect good match here, both teams are capable to achieve positive outcome and stay in battle for FA Cup title but somehow I would give advantage to the hosts, they are playing really good in front of their fans and they seems more confident, guests are coming here after convincing defeat and they must consolidate their squad to achieve positive result here and reach semi finals but West Ham is closer to a victory here in my opinion.
