It seems that Hertha is losing some of their good form in previous rounds, as the team has only one point in Bundesliga in last three games. There’s no doubt that the team over performed in previous period and maybe this lack of consistency in form in previous weeks was somehow expected.
They lost away from home to Gladbach 5:0, then only took a point in really below average performance at home against Hannover and finally, suffered 2:1 defeat against relegation strugglers from Hoffenheim on the road last weekend. Not only that they lost, but the team was really outplayed this time and surely didn’t deserve nothing but a defeat. However, thanks to setbacks from their closest followers too, the team remained inside the Champions League positions, being at fourth place now with two points less than third placed Leverkusen and four more than followers from Gladbach, Mainz and Schalke. They are awaiting Bayern Munich on Saturday evening and surely look at this game as a match where they need to obtain a point at least. Hosts should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Ibisevic as number nine. They have no fresh injury worries.

With several players rested last Saturday evening, Dortmund managed to take an easy victory at home over Hamburger 3:0. They did simply what was needed and it was easy for them to create attacks, getting two goals near the end of the first halftime, thanks to Pulisic in 38th and Ramos in 44th minute, while visiting goalkeeper Adler got red carded at the start of the second halftime and make the game even more easier for the hosts.
Ramos scored the third one near the end of the game for complete victory, while the team remained safe at the second position, having seven points less than first placed Bayern Munich, while their second position remains secured from weeks ago. It was good to see them getting back to winning ways after losing 4:3 away to Liverpool in last moments of the game and being excluded from Europa League. This Cup remains now the only way to bring some joy to their fans and surely that the players will do anything to make through to the finals. Guests should be playing in offensive 4-3-3 formation with Reus, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang as forwards. Central defender Neven Subotic remains their only injury worry, but he was kinda unavailable almost during the whole season anyway. Several players were rested in their victory over Hamburg and should be fresh to start here from the first minute.
Borussia Dortmund have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 matches (DFB Pokal).
Semi-finals of DFB Pokal isn’t something to care less about, however having in mind that they are facing up against surely stronger Dortmund and that they have Bayern as probable opponent further on, I believe that the players of Hertha will care more about their Bundesliga matches. Even if not, Dortmund remains in a better momentum now, better form and morale and surely having much more quality roster.
