This London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs is proving to be an absolutely amazing game. Leicester did slip up vs Manchester United on Saturday and couldn't clinch the title just yet, which left the door open for the Spurs, who are trying to unlock this Chelsea away.
Chelsea sits at 10th place in the EPL right now and has absolutely nothing to play for, besides pride obviously. Hard to say if Hiddink will field his best possible lineup or not, but this doesn't change the fact that they will give their all. I bet every Chelsea player, fan or whoever besides a Spurs supporter in London, roots against Spurs at this point. Chelsea lost their last home game to City by 3 goals and it didn't look good. They only have 1 win in their last 4 home games(1W2D1L) and that was the game against struggling Newcastle, they couldn't crack WHU, neither Stoke, who has been pretty abysmal at the end of the season. Chelsea has no injury concerns
Like said, Spurs needs this win to mathematically be in this title race. Hopes are slim, but if they draw or lose, Leicester will be crowned EPL champions tonight. Their last game against WBA was a bit surprising, they couldn't crack Tony Pulis' side at home and only managed weak 1-1 draw, which hit their title hopes real hard. However they managed to create some really good opportunities, but failed to convert and WBA sure does know how to defend. I think they will start chasing the early goal early in this game and will eventually get the goal. Chelsea wont play as defensevely as WBA did and i expect Chelseas defense to struggle with Spurs' quick and technical players.
Spurs, however, has one little concern, their young gun Dele Alli will miss this game due to suspension, but Chadli/Lamela should fill that gap easily.
I think that last game was just a little error on their side and they will bounce back strong, knowing that Leicester IS vulnerable and might slip up.
I expect this game to have goals too and it can definitely go either side as Spurs will probably go all out attack, when on a draw anyway. Despite the fact that Chelsea won their last game 4-1 against B'mouth, i am still not entirely convinced by their attacking abilities and give the upper hand to a club, who's motivation should be sky high. When you add the fact that they would love to stay ahead their archrivals Arsenal and finish as the best London club, i think it's enough to force them to give their all and put maximum pressure on Leicester.
