This is first semifinal match of the World Cahmpionship in Turkey. It will be meeting between two so far undefeated teams, USA and Lithuania. And my choice for this game will be Kevin Durant to score more then 22.5 points.
Durant is the best player in this USA team. This guy, player of Oklahoma City Thunder, has finished past season as NBA's top scorer with over 30 points per match. Here at Mundobasket at the moment with average of 19.9 points per game he is fifth best scorer. But I expect that he will exceed by far this average in today's game. If we look at his statistics this is more than realistic. So far in seven games played, Durant did not spend a lot of time on the floor in some matches. In games with Croatia, Slovenia, Iran,Tunisia and Angola, which USA won easily, Durant has spent in the game between 18 and 23 minutes, and scored between 14 and 22 points. So, that was under today's line of 22.5 points. But in only game so far in which USA had problems to win (vs Brazil,70-68),Durant has played almost the entire game. For 39 minutes he scored 27 points. Also in last game in QF against Russia, when USA only in third quarter managed to made greater advantage, Durant had again to be more often in the game, and for his 37 minutes he scored 33 points.
Today in SF, Lithuania surely will be toughest opponent for USA so far. Lithuania is known as a very offensive team with a lot of shots for three points. Against Argentina they were amazing, especially in the first half when they hit almost every shoot. So, in match vs USA we will probably see high scoring game which is good for this Kevin Durant bet. Also hardly will going to happen to USA in some early stage of this game secure victory. Therefore Durant will have some 35 minutes for sure. With this playing time and with statistics that says that until now Durant had 61% of FG for 2pts and 43.8% for 3pts and with only two missed free throws of 27, I think that over 22.5 points will be easy task for him in this game with Lithuania.
