Football, Ecuador Serie A
Cuenca's good form from the beginning of the season didn't last for too long, as expected, as they ended the season somewhere mid-table, and they haven't found a solid pace ever since. In this second stage of the league, they have only 2 wins from 7 matches, one against poor Independiente, and the other one against an Emelec side that is still trying to find their best tactics. Otherwise, nothing impressive for Cuenca, as they have some mixed poor results, from home draws with Espoli, to away defeats at Imbabura. So LDU should have a clear path to victory, and it's up to them to take it. They will once again miss a few regulars (as they usually do lately), but again, the starting line-up looks good enough, and the good news for them is that ex-top scorer Bieler can play from the first minute, having served a pending 4-match suspension. Quito is in good form, taking 7 points in the last 3 matches, and their only chance to fight for silverware is to keep summing up points, as Deportivo Quito are bound to fail sooner or later. Besides, LDU hasn't lost to Cuenca since 2009, and are currently on a 3 match winning run, and they are likely to continue that trend. GL!
