In the first round it's time for a match of two of the "big four" of that league. That means the Euopean Cup-winner from 1974, 1. FC Magdeburg, is guest in Plauen against the Vogtländer FC. Plauen made an advisor contract with former Bundesliga player and nationalplayer from Bulgaria, Krassimir Balakov. He said, he wants to play one single game for Plauen, too. And that's the match against Magdeburg, but I don't think he will play 90 minutes, maybe he plays one halftime or less. In a last preseason match Plauen lost against Slavia Prag 1:2. Slavia played with lots of players from their b-team. Above all in the first halftime Plauen did not had any chance against Slavia Prag. In the second halftime they came a bit better in the game. New player Noll (central defence) made a good match but the offence of Plauen isn't that good yet. The guests won a fast tournament (every game 45 minutes) in Bocholt. Against the Oberligateam Bocholt they played 0:0. Then Bocholt lost against Bundesligateam Borussia Dortmund 0:4. The last match was 1. FC Magdeburg - Borussia Dortmund. Magdeburg won the match 1:0 with one goal of N'Dombasi and a very good keeper Beer. The last preseason match against Union Berlin (relegated to Oberliga) ended with a draw (1:1). The preseason showed, that Magdeburg's big strength is the defence. In offence they also have some problems like Plauen. But with the new offensive midfielder Sascha Nechiporuk (Ukraine) they have a very good player who can win a match by himself. And with Aleksandar Kotulkjak and Sven Kubis (last season top scorer) Magdeburg has two new good forwards that will make some more goals than the sold forwards Banser and Kühne. Also I think N'Dombasi (Congo) will finally shoot goals for Magdeburg like in the last games last season.
