An interesting match between relegation threatened Zaragoza and Championsleague contender Mallorca.
Zaragoza have done quite a good job in the back of the season. The team of coach Gay won five and lost five of their 12 games and still have quite a solid lead against the relegation zone. The team still have a six point lead ahead of Tenerife and seven of Valladolid. However the team were beaten by Osasuna a fortnight ago and are still in need of some points. At home the team of coach gay have already proved their strengths when they beat Valencia and Seville earlier this season while they suffered only two defeats out of their last eight games. Herrera is likely to return to the starting XI, after missing the last game due to injury. Lafita is still out but he will be the only major absent player.
Mallorca had a big and important win against third placed Valencia last Sunday and are still in sight for the lucrative fourth spot. The islanders are levell on points with Seville but have lost the head to head to the Andalucian side. On the other hand,, Manzano´s side are six ahead of in form Villarreal with seven games to play. However the islanders will have to improve their away record. Only twice the Balearic side left the mainland as winners but at least the team has suffered only one defeat out of their last four games. Defender Ramis and Varela will miss the game due to injury and suspension.
With back to back home games to come Mallorca will be keen to get at least a point out of this game but Zaragoza have done well at home recently and will not easy to beat. The hosts proved already this season that they can even beat top sides at La Romareda and Mallorca is certainly not as good as they are on home soil.
