England are favorites in this group on paper but they should confirm their status of favorites with good games and wins. USA are their first and seems to be most dangerous opponent in the group as both teams are the biggest favorites by the bookies for going through. But I'm not so sure that USA is far better team then Slovenia and even Algeria who knows to be very unpredictable both of them .
England will have very careful and serious approach in this game very but I believe Capelo will play his offensive tactic as in the matches before. England showed great performances in the qualification group , crashing the team of Croatia twice like a revenge for their elimination in previous qualifications. Last four friendly matches were all with 3 or more goals and I hope the England scoring machine will continue in same manner.
USA also plays attacking football , especially they are dangerous in counterattacks and this is special match for them because England is the team they want to beat more then other team. So motivation is on high level in USA dressing room , Donovan and Dempsey are both in great form and they should make some problems for England defense , who will be without Rio Ferdinand . But Jozy Altidore is injured and probably will not play in this match which is big problem for USA coach as he have inexperienced Robbie Findley, Edson Buddle or Herculez Gomez like a substitution.
All in all , my prediction is that we'll see great battle on every part of the pitch , both teams will go for win in the first match as both teams don't know to play defensively and on draw. I expect Rooney to be one of the best strikers in this tournament even he could play in Capelo tactic like an attacking midfielder or shadow striker. I gonna bet both teams to score and over on goals...
