well sadly the world cup is turning into an absolute bore, so the only way to tolerate the action is to bet on under and enjoy the fact there is none. every side seems terrified to lose and this is making for a similar situation to the start in 1982. so many dull draws.

Germany are strong favs here and i do expect them to go well at this world cup. Im not sure if they have a great deal of quality in midfield but as always with the Germans we can expect some terrific discipline and that belief that they can take any side. Their defence is pretty strong and while im not a big fan of Gomez up front- he is a handful that bashes defenders around and makes space for others.

The Aussies have the gem in Cahil. Any set play or cross ball and he is a danger.

We could say there is not a lot else in that squad. A few ex epl players who are not quite up to that level now and Craig Moore who was a fine defender at Rangers. But overall they look like one of the weakest sides in this competition.

I expect a very very negative line up from the Aussies. I think they attempt to play no football in this one whatsover and battle for the priceless point from the 1st game which would give them a fighting chance in game 2.

We should see plenty of fouls in this game. Lot of stop start, physical football and probably a lot of cards. And im afraid just as we have seen in every other WC match very little in the way of goals or open football.
