    Stoke had one the best home records in the epl last season so this wont be easy for Spurs.

    We seen a pretty woeful 1st half performance by Spurs in midweek as Young Boys raced to a 3-0 lead in that CL qualifer. Ok so it was a plastic pitch and they did recover well 2nd half to score twice and turn the tie around- but some of the defending was comical. Dawson didnt look at all comfortable and it was interesting how shaky they looked on crosses.

    Stoke lost last week at Wolves which is obviously a bad start as that will be one of the sides fighting the drop. Some bad news followed as new striker and big money signing Jones was injured which will force him out for a considerable while.

    I believe the extra rest is vital here. Too many fans thinks its easy to play european games and return to the epl- its not. The last place you want to go after a tough match like that is Stoke. They are one of the most highly motivated teams in the epl with a manager that demands every bit of effort possible from his side. The crowd is also one of the most intimidating in the country.

    I dont see many goals at all, 0-0 is possible. But these are good odds on Stoke not to lose as having already dropped points at Wolves- City will be desperate to get their season going by at least taking something from this fixture.
