both teams to score

scotland kick off the group with a very tough tie but i do expect this to a game with a few goals and action at both ends.

lithuania boss has said hes very confident about this match and the group in general. with some players now making it to big leagues in europe why shouldnt he be ? international football is getting closer all the time with no game being a given.

these teams have met so many times and to be fair lithuania has been very unlucky to be the loser on a number of occassions.

scotland have huge problems at the back. weir comes back into the squad at 40 years of age because the manager cannot trust the younger players in that position.. the defence in sweden was a shambles, 3-0 going on 5 or 6 so the likes of kenneth have correctly been dropped.

I do think this scotland side has goals in it. Miller is on fantastic form for Rangers with 5 goals already in just 3 spl games. His pace in movement can trouble just about any side. Brown might not have had the best time at Celtic but there is little doubt this is a quality attacking player that has done very well for the national side. McFadden may not start but we should see him at some point. I really like this player, he does the unexpected, he makes goals from nothing.

Both sides really need to win to have any chance in this group so im expecting attack from the managers. Scotland have enough quality to get goals on the road but you simply cannot trust the defence. The home side are certain to target Weir- at 40 years old he is very slow and does not enjoy taking on players that turn quickly.

this should be a good game and one with goals and chances at both ends.
